BolScan processes everything on your device. Your documents never leave your Apple hardware — not to us, not to anyone.
Last updated: March 11, 2025
BolScan is built on a simple principle: your documents are yours. All scanning, OCR processing, and data extraction happens entirely on your device using Apple's Vision framework. No document, image, or extracted data is ever uploaded to any server.
This Privacy Policy describes what information BolScan accesses, why, and how it is used.
BolScan collects no personal data. We do not operate servers, analytics pipelines, or data collection infrastructure. The following summarises all data handling:
BolScan requests camera access only to scan Bill of Lading documents. The camera is never accessed in the background. Images captured via the camera are processed immediately on-device and discarded unless you choose to save the extracted result.
Photo library access is requested only when you explicitly choose to import an image. No images are read from your library without your direct action.
All BOL data you process is stored in a SwiftData database on your device. On iOS and macOS, this data can optionally be synced via iCloud to your other Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID. This sync uses Apple's CloudKit infrastructure — BolScan never has access to data in transit or at rest in iCloud.
You can delete all stored data at any time from Settings → Data & Privacy within the app.
BolScan uses no third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services. The app is built exclusively on Apple frameworks.
BolScan is designed for freight and logistics professionals. It is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control. Deleting the app removes all app data from your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, you can also delete the iCloud data from your device's iCloud settings.
We have no server-side data to delete, because we never receive any.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via an app update. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
Continued use of BolScan after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how BolScan handles data, please contact us at [email protected]. We aim to respond within 2 business days.
